Richard Douglas Oakley of Rushville passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. He was born on June 1, 1964, to the late Wilbur Oakley and Phyllis Brook Glover in Richmond, Indiana.

Richard was a trades man. He mainly worked as a carpenter, and he did it all from remodeling homes to refinishing bathtubs with his son Ted.

Richard loved the time he spent with his family. He enjoyed singing and he was a very talented singer.

He will be greatly missed by his beloved fiancé, Susan Esarey, his son Ted Esarey, his daughter Kayla Oakley, and his sister, Connie Johnson

His memory will be cherished by his nieces and nephews: Donna (George) Coon, Angela (Robert) Ostrander, Keith (Tashia) Oakley, Wade (Rachel) Glover and several great nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Brenda Glover, and Donna Oakley; and brother Wilbur Oakley Jr.

Friends and family may gather on Saturday July 29, 2023, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Bethel Apostolic Church located at 2229 Iowa Avenue Connersville IN 47331. The funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00pm.
