Robert Westberg of Connersville passed away with his family by his side on May 31, 2025, at the age of 92.  Robert was born in Galesburg, Illinois on April 18, 1933, the son of the late Jonas Hagg Westberg and Christina Strom Westberg.

On July 28, 1952, in Lubbock, Texas, Robert married the love of his life, Mary Janice Murphy.  They shared 65 years together prior to her death in 2017.  Through their union, they were blessed with three beautiful daughters.

While living in Galesburg, ILL, he was a draftsman at the Admiral Corporation. Upon moving to Connersville, he worked for Philco-Ford from 1965 to 1972 as an engineer.  He and his wife were the owners/operators of the Parkview Restaurant for over thirty years selling in 2007 and had owned and operated the Dairy Twist for 50 years until his health failed and he sold it in 2020.

He was very hardworking and known as a workaholic.  When he took time to relax, he would take his grandchildren to Whitewater Memorial State Park to hike the trails, watch for deer, and enjoy a picnic.  Robert loved to listen to Big Band and Classical music to unwind from work and was a WWII history buff.  He was proud of the fact that he built his home in Illinois and enjoyed remodeling his home by hand, building the cabinetry and bookshelves.

His love and memories will be held close to the hearts of his children, Karen Jardina, Elizabeth Jones and Lori (Bill) Jensen; sister, Betty Vanos; grandchildren, Steve Jardina, Brian (Shannon) Jardina, Scott Kasandra)  Jones, Sarah Jensen, Allison Jensen and Rachel Jensen; great grandchildren, Kennedy (Noah) Williams, Gracie (Ethan) Harris, Jackson Jones, Payslie Jones, Madison Jones and Karlie Jones; great great-granddaughter, Magnolia Williams, Charlotte Jensen, Mason Wyatt, Marleigh Jensen, Luke Henry Jensen and Jasper Jensen; nephews, Russ (Diane) Vanos and John Vanos; and nieces, Lois (Fred) Rosenberry and Sharon (Steve) Rooney..

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brother, Everett (Fritz) Westberg; sisters, Ruth (Wilbert) Lester, Miriam (James) Johnson, Mary Louise (Howard) Wilson; son-in-law, Jack Jones, and a grandson, Brad Jones.

Funeral services will be held at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville, on Friday June 6, 2025, at 2:00 pm.  Family and friends may gather to share memories from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service.  Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
