Roberta K. Brown "Bertie" 82, of Connersville passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024. She was born on October 8, 1941, in Connersville to Leroy Link and Thelma Sosbe Link Leher.

On May 4, 1957, she married her loving husband, Richard Brown in Peru, Indiana. Together they had 3 children. Richard and Bertie enjoyed going dancing at all the clubs around Connersville for many years. They enjoyed making bird houses together and would gift them to their friends and made sure at their home all their trees had bird houses in them so she could enjoy bird watching.

Bertie worked at Ford as an assembler for 32 years before retiring in 1997.

Bertie was a member of the Connersville Lions Club for many years, where she and her husband served on the Lions club together and they were committed to serving in all the community events.

Bertie was a wife, mom, grandma, and a friend to many. You could often find her playing cards, games and going camping. Bertie found joy in always keeping her house and yard in order, she simply loved her home and sharing it with her family. She was the grandmother that was always there to support her grandchildren at all their sporting events. She always looked forward to baking for all her grandchildren during the holiday season. She enjoyed attending concerts with her friends. For 10 plus years her and her husband would spend New Years eve with some of their greatest friends. She loved her cats Chloe and Ollie. Bertie was one of the strongest women there was to be known. She loved her family and enjoyed all the time spent with them.

Bertie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Richard; her children, Rod (Lynn) Brown, Debbie (Rick Kurz) Brown and Craig (Misty) Brown; grandchildren, Ryan (Elizabeth) Brown, Lacey (Jason) Miller, Doug Sparks, Danny Sparks, Ashley (Rafeal) Cisneros, Chris (Stephanie) Urban, Caitlin (Andrew) Zimmerman, Shelby (Rodney) Rader, Olivia (Tyler) Wooten, Baylee Schneider, Kara Schneider and Gavin Schneider; 20 great grandchildren with 3 on the way; and 1 great great grandchild; sisters in law, Jackie (Kenny) Church and Phyllis Brown; and special friends, Larry and Vicki Miller, Jack Kline and Judy Calhoun.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Kenny Leher; her brother in law, Bob Brown; and her special friend, Sharon Kline.

Visitation for Bertie will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W. 8th St. Connersville, Indiana 47331. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Billups officiating.
