Ruth Elaine Barrett, 79 of Connersville passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025. She was born on May 4, 1945, in Connersville to Eula Sergent Cupp.

In 1961 she married Kyle Barrett in Connersville, they were able to spend 59 years together before he passed away on October 14, 2020.

Ruth was a faithful member of the Blooming Grove Family Worship Center. She was active in many ministries in the county including Vonda Bishop Ministries and the PTC food pantry. Ruth had donated the space for the food pantry for several years.

Ruth had worked at Kunkels Drive-In for 25 years and retired from Wal-Mart after 25 years of service. For 10-15 years she served the community as a foster parent to many children. In 2001 she opened the doors to Caring Services in Connersville with her daughter, Crystal, where they owned and operated the services together.

Ruth enjoyed going to yard sales and shopping. Most importantly she loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Tammy Johnson and Crystal (Bill) Coker; a son, Kyle (Jenny) Barrett Jr.; a daughter in law, Stephanie Cooper; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and her brothers, Roy (Marjean) Cupp and Johnny (Frances) Cupp.

Ruth was preceded in death by her mother, Eula Cupp; her husband, Kyle; her son, Jason Barrett; her granddaughters, Desiree Lynch and Summer Barrett.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W. 8th St., Connersville. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Blooming Grove Family Worship Center, 15001 Stone Church Rd., Brookville, In 47012 with Vonda Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
