Georgia Ruth Byrley, age 91, formerly of Liberty, began her eternal journey with her Lord and Savior on May 22, 2023, in Carrolton, Kentucky.  Ruth was born in West College Corner, Indiana on January 4, 1932, the daughter of Murray and Bernettie Norvell Chaney.

She was united in marriage to the love of her life on February 21, 1947, to Chester Byrley, Jr.  They enjoyed 66 years together prior to his death in 2013.  They were blessed with three children.

Retiring in 1994, she worked at Polansky Meat Market in Amherst, OH for over 30 years.  She and Chester enjoyed traveling and she valued her faith and family above all.

Ruth's love and memory will be cherished by her children, Ronald (Michelle) Byrley and Wanda (Tex) Mitchell; daughter-in-law Linda Byrley; and her nine grandchildren, Alicia, Chester IV, Renee, Tina, Ronnie, Jacob, Dawn, Ben, and Jill.  She will be thought of often by her 24 great grandchildren, as well as several great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was welcomed into heaven by her son, Chester "Ted" Byrley III, brothers, Ed Norvell and Earl D. Chaney, and sisters Zora Boyle, Lois McKinney and Ruby Barber.

Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Tim Fluty at Urban Winkler Funeral Home 513 W 8th Street, Connersville, on Tuesday May 30, 2023, at 1:00pm where friends and family may gather from 11:00 am.  Burial will follow at Sims Cemetery.
