Shawna Abbott Durlacher passed away at IU Methodist Hospital on February 3, 2025, at the age of 51.  She was born in New Castle, Indiana on August 16, 1973, to the late Larry Abbott and Charlotte "Mona" Bilbrey Fox.

For several years, Shawna worked in customer service at banks and the BMV in the Kentland, Indiana area.  She also worked at Daum Dairy Mart in Connersville.  Creativity flowed through the poetry she loved to write. She found hours of pleasure while playing with her dogs and spending time lounging around her sister's pool. She adored spending time with her family.

Those surviving who will cherish her love and memories include her dad, Mike (Barb) Wolfe; companion, Robert Garcia; sons, Joshua Durlacher and Seth Durlacher; sisters, Rhonda (Robert) Carlin and Misty Abrams, as well as a niece and several nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a niece, Jennifer Abbott, and a brother-in-law, Jeff Abrams.

Shawna's death was unexpected, but her spirit will live on in the individuals she saved by being a "Donor Hero".
