Shirley Meadows, of Connersville, passed away at Cardinal Care Strategies in Muncie on Friday September 22, 2023, at the age of 84.  Shirley was born in Alpine, Fayette County, Indiana on April 4, 1939, the daughter of the late Homer Keaton and Dorothy Scaggs Keaton Day.

She worked in customer service at Stop 1 Truck Stop for 19 years and at other local restaurants.  Shirley enjoyed her quiet time by working on puzzles of all kinds, doing word searches, or working in her flower garden.  She valued the time she spent with her family.

Her love and memory will be cherished by her daughters, Shirley Rutledge and Cindy (Lowell) Smith; sons, John (Gloria) Meadows and Duane Meadows; grandchildren, Windi (Ben) Krepp, Penny (Thad Thalheimer) Nickloy, Holly Smith, Eric Speyer, Devon Speyer, Mark Smith, Paul (Liz) Bryant, Heather (Scotty) Clark, Aaron (Samantha) Jones, Randy Meadows, Becca Meadows, Allen Meadows and TJ Meadows; step grandchildren, Brandy Carey and Amanda Elliott; great grandchildren, Austin Bentley, Taylor Bentley, Landon Cole, Grant Nickloy, Dylan Bryant and Jaxon Speyer.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepfather, John Day and a brother, Herbert Keaton.

Friends and family may gather at Urban Winkler Funeral Home on Tuesday September 26, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday September 27, 2023, at 10:00 am with Jay Rowe officiating.  Graveside service will follow at Laurel North Cemetery.
