Harvey “Spud” King passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday November 3, 2026, at his home at the age of 79. Spud was born on March 8, 1947, in Hamilton, Ohio to John Thomas King and Brytle Baker King.
Spud served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. In the 1970’s he owned his own siding business and over the years he made his living at buying, selling and trading at flea markets. Spud was a member of the MMC. For over 25 years, he was the National Enforcer for the Fugueros and served as the President’s body guard.
Spud could be found relaxing while fishing his favorite fishing hole, riding his Harley Motorcycle, or watching westerns and WWE. When he was younger, he enjoyed bull riding. He was known for being onery and opinionated, but he had a never-ending love for his grandchildren and family.
His love and memories will be cherished by his wife, Kathy McDaniel King, whom he married on September 6, 1992, in Laurel, IN; his daughters, Patricia King, Andrea (Doodle) May, Brytle M. King and Rosie (Danny) Sparks; son John King; grandchildren, Sarah (Tyler), John (Allison), Dylan (Shelby), Jake (Megan), Mason, Gage, Danny Joe, Michael, Josh, Austin and Collin; as well as his great grandchildren, Coralynn, Wade, Easton, Dash, Ryder, Hudson, Axton, Deklin, Willow and Emersyn.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Dan King.
Keeping with Spud’s wishes, cremation was chosen. The family will conduct a Celebration of Life at their convenience.
Urban Winkler Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
