Obituary

Theresa "Terri" Cochran passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side at the age of 80.  Terri is the daughter of the late Wayne and Joan Rambo Goetz.  She was born on February 23, 1946, in Connersville, IN.

Terri was a lifelong member of the Eastside United Methodist Church in Connersville. On November 19, 1971, Terri married Charles L. Cochran in Connersville. They shared more than 37 years together before his passing on January 1, 2009.

Terri was a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She also dedicated many years of her professional life to serving her community through her work in the Auditor's office and the Health Department in the Fayette County Court House. In her earlier years, she had also worked as a waitress at the former Hudson House.

Beyond her work, Terri found her greatest joy in the beauty of nature and the outdoors. She was awarded the title of Master Gardner and took great pride in her flowers. While working at the Fayette County Courthouse, Terri planted and maintained the flower pots around the outside of the courthouse. She also spent many hours at Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary banding birds with her daughter Amy. Terri was a Brownie Girl Scouts leader for many years where she led the drive in the annual cookie sale. She also shared a passion with her family riding horses. Centering her life around her family, she enjoyed anything her family was doing just so that she could be with them. Most recently, she took great pride in her efforts in Community Sharing through the Fayette County Community Voices. After retirement, Terri loved to travel visiting several different continents throughout the world.

Terri will be greatly missed by her children - Lora (Shane) Gough, Amy (Carl) Wilms, and Terry (Lisa) Cochran; her grandchildren - Brittany (Jimmy), Charlie (Amanda), Casey, Alex, Hutton, and Khari; her great-grandchildren - Dalton, Jordan, Brody Paul, Devin, Kendall, and Grayson Shane; as well as her dogs, grand-dogs, and many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Charles, Terri is preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kelsey Kay and Benjamin.

Visitation for Terri will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 11:00am until 1:00pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00pm with last rites of the Eastern Star. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Fayette County Animal Shelter.
