Travis Randal Hughes, 48, of Liberty, passed away on February 11, 2025. Travis was born October 27, 1976, and is the son of Randy and Bonita (Scaggs) Hughes.

A lifelong resident of Liberty, Travis attended Union County High School where he graduated with the class of 1995. He later married Kelli (Logan) Hughes on July 28, 2007 in Metamora, IN and were blessed with two children, Raegan and Trace.

Travis worked on his family's farm from the time he could walk. He took great pride in carrying on his family's legacy on their more than 150 year family farm. When we wasn't farming, he loved everything to do with tractors; especially working on the John Deere 110's with his son, Trace. He also had a passion for pulling tractors. Travis also loved his dogs, Harley and Ripp, as well as the many cats that lived on his farm.

In addition to his parents, Randy and Bonita, Travis will be greatly missed by his wife, Kelli Hughes; their children, Raegan Hughes and Trace Randal Hughes; brothers, Justin (Julie) Hughes, Rusty (Chelsie) Hughes, Rhett Hughes, and Evan Hughes; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Travis is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Forrest and Donna Hughes; and maternal grandparents, Harold and Marilyn Scaggs.

Visitation for Travis will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 11:00am in Sims Cemetery with Pastor Sean Tipton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Foundation to a FFA scholarship in memory of Travis.
