Vernon R. Milbourn, also known as "Shadow" passed away on Sunday March 16, 2025 at the age of 78. He was born on December 20, 1946 in Batesville, IN; the son of the late Everett Milbourn and Mary A. Carey Gabbard.

After high school Shadow served in the United States Navy from 1963 until his 1967, he beamed with pride when speaking of his military experience. He was a jack of all trades when it came to employment, he mainly worked in construction and most recently was a part-time truck driver until he retired. Shadow attended worship services at Saved by Grace Ministries in Connersville, he was also a proud member at the Conersville VFW Post 571 where he also served in the honor guard.

A heart that loved the wild and free now rests in natures canopy; Shadow found joy in the outdoors, he especially loved to hunt and fish. Likewise he took pleasure in collecting Indian memorabilia. If Shadow wasn't hanging out with his colleagues at the VFW he enjoyed spending time in church or catching up with his family and friends.

Shadow is survived by his sons, Dennis and Ricky Milbourn; his siblings, brothers, Everett (Brenda) Milbourn, James (Beth) Milbourn, and sisters, Mary (Ronnie) Moore, and Rose (Tom) Robinson.

Along with his parents, Shadow is preceded in death by a sister, Linda Dubois.
