Virginia Lee Vaughn passed away on December 8, 2023, at the age of 79.  She was born on January 23, 1944, in Connersville, IN, the only child of Ralph E. Vaughn and Bernice V. Clark Vaughn Buschmann.

Virginia is a 1962 graduate of Connersville High School and earned her Bachelor's  and Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Indiana State University.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Retiring in July of 2011 after 45 years of service, Virginia was a teacher for Fayette County School Corporation at Fayette Central.  Virginia served as the PTO Treasurer for over 20 years.  She was active in school Intramurals, Student Council, Young Astronauts, student newspaper, and the Indiana Computer Educators.  In 2013, Virgina was inducted into the Fayette County School Corporation Education Hall of Fame.  She was active in the John Connor Players with behind-the-scenes projects.  During her high school and college days, she would work summers in the family business, Leo Kahn Clothing Company.

Virginia is survived by several cousins, many former students, co-workers and her beloved cats, Max and Dolly.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepfather, Donald Buschmann.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday December 20, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Dale Cemetery.
