William "Bill" D. Dawson Sr., 68 of Connersville passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024. He was born on March 10, 1956, in Connersville to George Dawson and Dema Brandenburg Dawson.

Bill proudly served in the United States Army for 6 years.

Bill was a truck driver for over 30 years.

He was a proud member of the Connersville VFW Post #571, where he enjoyed spending his time there and serving the community. He thoroughly loved his VFW family.

You could often find Bill camping and cooking with his family and friends. He found great joy serving his family and friends the food he would cook up. Bill was a great man; he would take the shirt off his back to help you out. Most importantly he loved spending time with his beloved grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his girlfriend of many years, Paulette Brisco; his children, William "Bill (Sandy) Dawson Jr., Delbert (Tina) Dawson, Kelly (Jennifer) Dawson, Justin Dawson and Jessie (Joe) Derusha; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dema Dawson; granddaughter, Tylissa Isaacs and a grandson, Antwan Leslie.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 5:00 pm at the Connersville VFW, 1033 N. Eastern Ave., Connersville, Indiana 47331.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Bill to the Fayette County Cancer Society or to the Connersville VFW Post #571.
