Wilma
Cooper
Aug 24, 1939 — May 19, 2026
Wilma Cooper, 86 of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. She was born on August 24, 1939, in Connersville to Robert Worster and Esther Abner Worster.
Wilma was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Liberty. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Connersville chapter.
At the age of 52 she decided to go back to school and obtain her associate's degree in nursing. For many years she faithfully served as an LPN at nursing homes in the surrounding area, most recently in Oxford. She dedicated her life to caring for others, her gentle spirit, warm heart and wonderful sense of humor brought comfort, joy and laughter to countless residents and coworkers throughout the years. Nursing was more than a profession for her, it was her calling, and she treated each patient with kindness and compassion.
She found great happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She had a true talent and love for quilting, carefully stitching together beautiful quilts that became treasured gifts for every member of her family. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers, spending time outdoors and admiring their beauty. She was an avid reader. One of her favorite things was gathering with her card group at Southview, where friendships, laughter and countless memories were shared over the years.
Above all her family meant everything to her. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; she always offered encouragement, wisdom, laughter and unconditional love.
Wilma is survived by her children, Robert Joseph (Linda) Teeguarden, Brenda (Kyle) Fohl and Kathy (Robert) Burkhead; 7 grandchildren, John, Joey, Amber, Jeffrey, Evan, Keith and Alisha; 14 great grandchildren; many adopted grandchildren she called her own; her beloved dog and cat, Abner and Dashboard; her best friend, Inez; and many friends at Southview.
