Wilma
Mock-Brindley
Jul 5, 1933 — Apr 8, 2025
Wilma Mock-Brindley passed away on Tuesday April 8, 2025, while a resident at Heritage House Rehabilitation and Health Care in Connersville, IN at the age of 91. Wilma was born in Rushville, Indiana on July 5, 1933, the daughter of Earl and Lena Hungerford Young.
She was a member of the Moscow Christian Church. Her faith was an important part of her life, providing her with comfort.
Wilma retired in 1995 after 29 years of service from Philco/Ford. In January of 1988, Wilma was the original founder of the organization, Make A Child Smile at Christmas (MAC-SAC) at Ford. An organization that she took great pride in. MAC-SAC would have fundraisers and collect aluminum cans to buy toys, shoes, clothing and coats at Christmas time for the children throughout Fayette County and the surrounding communities.
She was a devoted sister, wife, mother and grandmother that helped on the farm with her husband Dallas. Though her hands were calloused from years of work, her heart remained tender and full of warmth for those she loved. She was known as a workaholic and said, "she never did anything for fun". She enjoyed gardening and canning and cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
Wilma's love and memories will be cherished by her children, Peggy (Gary) Seward, Sam (Linda) Hankins and Kirby Mock; a brother, Aaron Young; and a sister Alice Brook. She will be thought of often by her grandchildren, Brett (Amber) Hankins, Chad (Michelle) Hankins and Eric (Jennifer) Seward, and great grandchildren, Madison, Hunter, Maeley, and Aiden, as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Russell Hankins, Dallas Mock and Harry Brindley, and a brother Roy Young.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Moscow Christian Church, 9098 S River Road, Milroy, IN 46156 or at the funeral home.
